Biography

Professor Blair joins the Turner College of Business after a successful career in teaching and research at Mississippi State University.  He has been successful in teaching and conducting academic as well as contract research.  His main research interests are regional in nature.  Most recently he has examined how regional market conditions affect the behavior of retail gasoline prices at the pump. The chair was endowed to honor Sarah Turner Butler’s commitment to excellence in all things and to enhance the mission of the D. Abbott Turner College of Business that bears her father’s name.  As holder of the Sarah T. Butler chair, Professor Blair will serve as director of the newly established Butler Center for Business and Economic Research. The mission of the center is to serve the Chattahoochee Valley region by providing objective business and economic analysis.  The center will facilitate, coordinate, and be a focal point of the regional economic research and development activities of the University and the Turner College of Business.
